Welcome to our website!

In Genesis we are told of the great flood and the protection afforded by the ark. Today God continues to provide protection and love for us and our children. The church functions as an ark when we are cast by life on stormy seas. Just as the rainbow is a symbol of God's promise to mankind we must promise to lead our children along a path that leads to a relationship with God and His church so they may experience the peace, joy and hope of a Christian life.

Our Children's Ministry at Richmond Hill United Methodist Church is designed to provide a fun, safe, loving and educational environment.

JAM (Jesus and Me) program runs from 4-6pm. every Wednesday as the after school program. We are thrilled with the number of children coming and the wonderful volunteers who get to enjoy the fun with us! Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen and will continue to do so each week. We are using a curriculum called FaithWeaver Friends by the same company who publishes our VBS materials. We are exploring the wonder of this world God created for us and how we need to be good stewards of it. We will be progressing through the book of Genesis for all 13 weeks of this semester and children will learn key verses, Bible points and journal about their faith walk. Opening Celebration consists of high energy music, drama skits, guest speakers, videos and circle of friends discussions. The younger children enjoy puppet shows as well, all before we create projects with a purpose and enjoy some fellowship time with games. Jeanne Wallace, our Music Director, is teaching the FaithWeaver Friends music, along with classic children's Bible songs and leading other music based activities. Please contact Janine if you have any questions. Read the September 2011 JAM newsletter for more information.

Calling all moms! We are starting a UMW Circle of Moms and would like to offer a special invitation to attend the unit meeting on Sunday, January 29th at 10am in the Curry. The UMW Circle of Moms will have once monthly gatherings on the first Friday of the month at 10am. Childcare is provided and we will have a devotional time, food and fellowship. Even if you are unable to attend the informational meeting on the 29th, please mark your calendars to join us in the Curry on Friday, February 3rd at 10am. We do not get much of a chance to connect with each other during other church times so we hope to see you there. Please contact Janine with any questions. Thank you!

There will be a "Love Thy Neighbor Party" on February 12th from 3-4:30pm. Children and their families are invited to join us for an afternoon of fun and fellowship as we show love to our neighbors in Christ. The children will assemble Valentine bags for the children who live on the Soup Kitchen route. They will have a wonderful time together making crafts to personalize their gifts while enjoying light refreshments in Fellowship Hall. Hope to see you there for this important mission opportunity for all children. We will be collecting bags of Valentine candy on Sunday, January 29th and February 5th. Boxes to drop the candy off will be at both entrances to the church Sanctuary. Thanks so much for helping to support the children's ministry!
