Parent's Page

Much joy is associated with being a parent but parenting is not without its challenges. Many challenges are related to the lives we live in today's fast paced, rapidly changing world in which multi-tasking often seems a priority. Staff  involved with our Children's Ministry understand these challenges. Most have dealt with, or are currently dealing with, similar challenges themselves. Recognizing the importance of the family, our goal is to provide needed support to parents and grandparents as well as their children.

Many of our activities and events at Richmond Hill United Methodist Church are geared to families. Parents who choose to volunteer or participate in those events often find they are greatly blessed by fellowship with other parents and families.

If you are having a problem related to parenting why not share it with other Christian parents and consider what they have done in a similar situation? Laughing and sharing the good times, with other parents, always feels good too. Much can be said about the value of fellowship.

The community also provides support for parents. One example is MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers). MOPS exists "to encourage, equip and develop every mother of preschoolers to realize her potential as a woman, mother and leader in the name of Jesus Christ." To learn more about MOPS International go to their website.
